Daily Diary, May 31, 2022, Day 639: Another good day of writing, yestesrday, 948 words, and I finished a chapter. Only thing scheduled today is a 6 pm phone date, which is past my writing time anyway.
Since I am feeling like I can see the end of first draft in sight, I did spend a couple of hours this morning going through the process of deciding what information I should send to get my cover designer started on making the cover. She is busy, so I like to give her some lead time.
First task was to to come up with a general color for the background, keeping to the overall, Victorian wallpaper theme. Like to make sure I’m not using the same shade in a book that will show up right next to an existing one. For example, I have 3 novellas, that are grouped as a series, and this book is another novella, so I don’t want to duplicate either of the other 3 colors I’ve used for these novellas.
The hard part is finding 19th century images to put into the center frame. I have found 2 era-specific pictures of banks, with women inside the bank. I hope she can use one of them, but factors like licensing and resolution come into play in the final decision.
I also paid bills, and I am about to go over voting guide with my husband to then fill out and mail ballot. I love the ability to do this from home. Then, get back to writing!
No walk today because broken toe flared up again yesterday, quite painful by last walk yesterday and during the night. So trying to stay off of it today. But luckily have a couple more photos from last walk to share. Loving this pale pink!
Been following your writing, but new to your blog. As an aging reader, I appreciate your insights and daily perspectives. Thanks!
