Daily Diary, Day 632: I was so tired yesterday that I didn't have energy to do anything but write, so I actually got 1030 words written! I don't suggest this as a writing strategy, but it did give me a nice boost in terms of momentum that I hope to sustain today.
I also dragged myself out for a 20 minute walk after dinner, and I think this helped wake me up enough to make it until my regular bedtime (10), and I slept 8 hours, hooray. We watched the second part of the new documentary about the comic George Carlin (watched the first the night before), on HBO. It was fantastic, and it gave me a new appreciation for him. Obviously not for people if bad language and fury make you uncomfortable, but we I was really surprised, not only about how many of his routines I knew, but how well they have held up over time.
Still draggy today, since the past week I had been consistently short of sleep so it might take awhile to feel completely caught up. But hey, ho, might mean another good writing day!
I've been out for a 40 min walk, will top off my goal of an hour a day before or after dinner, and I've already read through most of the blog and substack posts I've subscribed to (mostly by other writers) so once I've showered I should be ready to go.
Had a chat with neighbor as I started my walk. She was sitting outside on her stoop so that her outdoor black cat could eat his breakfast without contending with the crows I told you about. So expect they will stop coming round now that there isn't going to be a dish of cat food out for them. Good for the cat, but I will miss them.
Here is one of the few blooms I saw on my walk that wasn’t past its prime.
We, too watched the George Carlin documentary. Quite a man. Sorry he got so grim towards the end. But wasn't he spot on about so many things? And, sadly, so much of it is still relevant. Good luck catching up with your rest.
Hope you are having more energy, dear Sister. I do so enjoy reading your updates when I can. Love the flower picture!
