Daily Diary, , Day 994: I have spent the vast majority of the morning (in addition to usual dust and sweep and first 30 minute walk) creating the draft of my monthly newsletter to go out tomorrow. As I did so, it occurred to me that I haven’t made much of a push to suggest those of you who haven’t subscribed to it do so. So, that’s what I am going to do right now.
The title of this newsletter is Mary Louisa Locke’s Monthly Newsletter (not really very exciting but no doubt about what it is.)
This newsletter replaced two separate newsletters I had been putting out for years, one to my historical mystery fans, the other to my science fiction fans. However, there was enough overlap between the two that I decided to combine them when I shifted over to substack. Nevertheless, I do try to feature items that would be of interest to both groups.
For example, if you go over and subscribe to this newsletter today (this will always be a free publication), then tomorrow you will get a newsletter that is pretty typical of what I offer every month. First, I provided links to where you can buy both ebook and print editions of my newest book, Tides of Acerba. I also discount different audiobooks from both series each month, so this month you would learn where you can get the discounted editions of the Caeliestis Series boxed set and the mystery novella, Dandy Delivers. I also run a monthly raffle, where I give away codes where you can download a free audiobook copy of a book on Spotify. This month the book being raffled is the novella, Violet Vanquishes a Villain. Currently, I am in the midst of a year-long promotion with other authors were every month I provide a links to a free copy of a different historical mystery. This month the book featured is a prequel short story to a 1920s historical mystery series.
In short, lots of opportunities if you are looking for books to read or listen to, so go right below and subscribe if you haven’t already done so!
Now that I have completed my business-related activities for the day, I hope to go work on scene 4 of the short story. I did get 435 words written yesterday. A little short of my 500 word a day goal, but good enough.
We are having another very grey day, the marine layer so low, it feels more like drizzle than low clouds. This poor sunflower was already having trouble finding sun, and I rather sympathized with it.
