I talk about the weather, a post I am writing, and the new Julia Louis-Dreyfus podcast.
Daily Diary, Day 973: If you remember, one of the things on my list of Favorite Things I posted about in December was weather, and today is a good example. The day started very much like yesterday, cloudy, (photo) but unlike yesterday when we had about 20 minutes of sun during the afternoon, today it got sunny mid day, and right now there are only some clouds left to the east of us, and a very faint bank of clouds to the west over the ocean.
However, given that tomorrow has a slightly higher chance of rain, I won't be surprised if we aren't back to a universally cloudy day, heading into the over 75% chance of rain on Thursday. So, definite weather!
Something I've noticed about sunny days, when there are also those big puffy clouds all around, is that this this appears to make the colors of blossoms more vibrant. So, I thought I would include one of the roses I photographed today as well as an illustration.
Still no proofed copy of book, but I finished the post on the new character, Minna Stein, and I have spent most of this morning working on a Historical Tidbits post on the controversy over the use of animals for medical research that I discovered when I was researching the dognapping topic in general. I should be able to post this on substack tomorrow.
Last night we watched the newest episode of Brokenwood and Candice Noir. More and more we are loving the continuing character of Frodo on Brokenwood. I really, really find bits of humor necessary in my TV watching, even when there are serious themes.
Oh, oh, this reminds me, my husband told me about a new podcast by Julie Louis-Dreyfus called Wiser than Me that I listened to on my (40 min) walk today. I listened to her interview with Fran Lebowitz, which was so good! Anyway, Lebowitz at some point said that the most important characteristic in a friend? partner? not sure which, was a sense of humor. So true. I know this was probably the first thing that attracted me to my husband, and I suspect it has a lot to do with why were are still together over 50 years later! Anyway, this podcast has just begun and here is a link.
I highly recommend.
Time to get back to work, time's a wasting!
