Daily Diary, Day 621: Thursdays and Fridays are becoming the days when I try to get through my to-do-list for the week. The list is often a combination of daily tasks, like walking, dusting, sweeping, and weekly or monthly tasks. Yesterday, I got my weekly newsletter for my Historical Fiction Authors website ready and sent off in the morning and then spent the rest of the morning getting my own monthly promotional newsletter ready to go out today. I am pleased that a number of the newsletter subscribers who opened the newsletter already have come over and subscribed to my new An Aging Author’s Daily Diversions newsletter, and I now have 307 subscribers!
I am making good progress on listening to my Carl Hiassan audiobook on my walks, making me at least appreciate that we don’t have hurricanes and that it isn’t as humid. And by the end of the day yesterday, everything on my to-do list was done. So, besides this post and two phone calls, I should be able to spend the rest of today writing, and Saturday and Sunday look pretty free as well.
The men working on the yard weren’t able to finish another job they were working on, so it looks like this afternoon they will do the clean-up. Just as well, since this gives the cement work another day to dry. The high today is supposed to be mid-70s, but I think its going to go higher. I left for walk this morning at 8:15, it was 65, and 50 mins later it was already 70! Very windy all day yesterday, dry, and of course the fact that there is a fire near the coast to the north of us is worrisome. Not that it could make it down here, just because it is an indication of how dangerous the current weather system (hot, dry, winds) is.
The hawks like the weather though. Here is a photo of one that landed on our back fence a couple of days ago.
