Daily Diary, Day 918: Another editing day. Yesterday, after spending the morning cutting 400 or so words, I proceeded to then start to add an entirely new scene between my protagonist and her brother. This scene ended up being 600 words, so when I finished it this morning, I had gained rather than lost total word count. But I am happy with the scene, and this afternoon I was able to get through another chapter and another scene, with some more trimming, so I have now cut over 800 words today. Satisfactory progress.
I also had a scheduled phone call in the morning, and I dragged myself out for a 30 minute walk this afternoon. I can tell my stamina is down, but I am determined to slowly build it back up again.
I wish I could say that the stye miraculously went away over night, but I am telling myself that maybe it is a smidgeon smaller. Will go do the second soak when I finish posting, and then get ready for dinner. Last night we watched another new episode of Candice, a French police procedural with a rather eccentric female protagonist, then an old episode of Vera, who is of course eccentric in her own way.
Probably will do a similar pairing of shows this evening. Tomorrow is my usual noon zoom meeting, then a meeting afterwards, and supposedly a new mattress we have ordered is going to be delivered sometime between 11 and 3. This will require taking the old mattress apart, then cleaning the bed frame and under it well while it is easily accessible, doing as much of it as I can without my husband who is allergic to dust (and I know there will be some, because who lies under a bed frame and dusts the slats etc. I certainly don't!
In short, I don't suspect I will get a whole lot of work done, but if I can finish the chapter I started today, and get in a 35 minute walk, I will feel good.
Here is what I assume is a lilac bush that I saw on my walk this afternoon. Enjoy! Oh, and I really enjoyed people telling me from my post yesterday what plants they were, but I was definitely surprised by all the dandelions!
I think that's wisteria. It's lovely, whatever flower it is!
Thanks for mentioning the TV show Candice. I am a longtime fan of Vera, so I found and binged several episodes of Candice tonight.
