Daily Diary, Day 923: I really do appreciate all of you who are hanging in with me in this stage of the writing process. Despite the fact that I do enjoy editing, I confess that I am tiring, Having the likes, and comments, and knowing I'm not doing this completely alone does help.
I am not finding quite as many large chunks to delete, which makes sense, since by this time in the writing process I knew I was dropping some threads, do I didn't put the information in to begin with. Now it is more a process of finding the word here, the phrase there, etc. to cut.
While I have 7 chapters more to edit, these are covering the two main climatic events and the final chapter, so story-wise I am near the end. But, I know realistically this will probably take me all week.
However, I have had a pretty balanced day today. This morning I got in a short walk, on top of regular cleaning, plus two phone calls, one long, one short. I also had to take care of some business for a group I belong to. the afternoon was spent editing and now I have two emails that I would like to answer, plus another eye soak, so I think I am done with the editing for the day.
We are supposed to have another one of those atmospheric rivers dumping rain on us, starting tomorrow afternoon, so I need to make sure I get my walk in tomorrow morning. Otherwise, for now, nothing but editing scheduled for the day. Still finding it difficult to locate many blooms on my walks. This is one of those plants that looks like some sort of odd miniature cactus to me. Anyone know what it is? Nice red blooms, but boy, look at those spikes!
We appreciate your hard work.
Reading your commentary on how you write and edit is interesting, a different perspective.
