Daily Diary, Day 922: Another very full day, which has felt slightly off all day because of the switch to day-light savings time.
We went to bed at our regular time, and got up 8 hours later, but of course the clocks said it was nine hours later, so all day long we both kept feeling like we were behind. Was very foggy and misty through most of the day, but is finally sunny, and you can see Leeza enjoying sitting on our back deck enjoying the bit of sun. The other photo is of her sitting with her penguin, which seems to be her favorite toy right now.
Rather than walk, I did my major weekly cleaning, which for some reason took almost two hours. Not sure if I was slower than usual, or that I was enjoying listening to my audiobook of one of the more recent Maisie Dobbes books by Jacqueline Winspear that I was more methodical.
I've listened to the first two books, set in post WWI period, and this, her 17th book is set in WWII. Obviously a lot has happened in the interim, but she has done a good job of putting just enough information about the past and the growing number of people in Maisie's world, so that I don't get confused. I know from experience how difficult a job that is for an author.
Was an interesting day in terms of editing. Not a lot of cutting in the morning, but it was one of those chapters where the emotional tone was important, so lots of minor tweaking. Then this afternoon, I suddenly found whole paragraphs to jettison, so all together I've cut more than 1000 words. I might even try to work a little after dinner, so I can finish the chapter I am working on. Then, the big issue is...will we be ready to go to sleep at 10, even if our bodies think it is only 9!
