Daily Diary, Day 648: I wrote 1244 words yesterday, and I am now on the Epilogue, and I already have 489 words written today. If all goes well, I should be finished with this draft by tomorrow morning. Needless to say I'm happy!
Got in a 40 min walk this morning, still cloudy, although sun is now peeking out. There is a heat advisory for our deserts to the east, but it looks like the marine layer on the coast is going to keep it in the mid 70s. The roses, however, are not happy with the lack of any precipitation and warmer weather, and I have had to look hard for even some buds that haven't started to turn brown.
Here is the remaining bud on my one rose bush. A couple of people asked the name of the orangish rose I featured yesterday, and so today I looked at the tag the neighbor had left on the bush when I walked by. It is a hybrid tea rose called Rio Samba. We decided to put off doing any more planting in our yard until late fall and the promise of some rain and cooler weather. But I definitely am going to look to see where to order one, when we are ready to plant.
