Daily Diary, Day 1016: Another sleepy day, because of the weather and also that I woke up at 4:30 AM and didn't go back to sleep. Thank heavens I don't have to do anything particularly difficult in the area of mental acuity today.
As I wrote yesterday, I did get over 1000 words written, and I have already written a little more than 500 words so far today, but very very slowly. Drinking strong tea to keep awake.
I have currently split scene 8 into two, it got so long, but I won't put 8 up until I have finished this second part, just in case I decide to smush knit them back together. So, my goal is to get that second part done, if possible today or tomorrow morning, so I can get the next scene up on Friday.
The Bookbub featured deal did fairly well. By the end of yesterday over 1000 people had bought my Caelestis Series Boxed Set, which pushed the book to the #1 best seller position in the science fiction - colonization, space exploration, and time travel categories, and the book is still there this afternoon. What’s great about this, is that people who browse those categories looking for a new book will see this boxed set and potentially buy it. It is all about discoverability. The Amazon computer algorithms also like it when a book continues to sell over more than one day. Tomorrow, I have one more small promotion with BargainBooksy scheduled, which I hope gets a few more buyers. Then, fingers crossed, I will see some sales and reviews of Tides of Acerba.
We are slowly finishing watching this season of Ted Lasso, (watched episode #8 last night) and started rewatching a British police procedural, Blue Murder, which I enjoy, but I'm not sure my husband liked it enough the first time around to keep rewatching it.
It is supposed to turn sunny this afternoon, and it actually did yesterday, but then again, it wasn't supposed to rain this morning, and it drizzled enough to register some precipitation, so who knows! But I saw the most gorgeous rose bush during my first walk of the day, when I did a different loop from my normal route. I hope it brightens your day as much as it did mine.
