Daily Diary, Day 1013:
I had a great night’s sleep, first full 8-hours in some time, but another gray day, which tends to make me sleepy. On the other hand, I had plenty of energy for a very good thorough weekly cleaning of the downstairs this morning, with all the laundry of dog blankets etc. that accompanies this.
I also spent a good deal of time coming up with a new banner for Facebook about the fact that my Caelestis series boxed set are 99 cents for the ebook and $4.99 for the audiobook. I also did a bookbub ad (not the same as the Featured Deal that goes out tomorrow) about the ebook discount, directed at my Victorian San Francisco mystery readers. The featured deal will go to my already existing science fiction fans (who probably have already bought and read the books) and to people who have expressed interest in science fiction, so a different potential audience than this ad. I am not a very visual person, and I never feel very confident when I create graphics, so this always takes time.
Then I had a phone call, worked on this post, and now it is lunch time. I did get about 500 words written yesterday, and I have about an hour or so after lunch before I have another phone call scheduled, so I hope to get another 500 words done today. Tomorrow, so far, only one phone call scheduled, so keeping fingers crossed I might even finish this next scene.
Getting close to the end for this first draft. Once it is done, I will give people who wish to, a week to read it for free, before I take it down, so I can polish, get it read by a few beta readers, proof read, and published. Then, I will take a poll and see how people liked the whole experiment of putting a story up for free.
Lunch time, and here is another flower for your viewing pleasure.
Enjoy your lunch 🥗! I enjoy reading these snippets of stories, it’s fun to reacquaint with the characters and follow their adventures.
Love the flower pictures you post. They’re icing on the cake!
