Hi, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the USA Today best-selling author of the Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series, and here is my daily reflection on life as an indie author trying to age gracefully.
Daily Diary, Day 1003: First of all, definitely June gloom going on, and on my regular Thursday noon zoom meeting today, everyone who lives in San Diego complained about how tired they were of day after day of gray and the fact that it never gets up above the high sixties. We are used to this seasonal pattern, but usually it is either of shorter duration during the day (giving us a couple of hours mid day of sun) or isn't every single day, week after week! I tell myself that at least it is good walking weather.
I am pleased to say that after shilly-shallying (don't you love that word) most of yesterday, I finally figured out how to organize scene 5, which I should be able to post tomorrow, as well as make good progress on scene 6, which if all goes well, I should be able to post on Sunday.
I was about to say that I had no meeting after meeting today, so I could get more writing done, but, oh well, just got off an hour long phone call, and I still have my second walk, so never mind!
However, I did also get a little marketing business done, by updating my webpage to advertise that for the month of June, I was not only continuing to make the audiobook edition my Caelestis boxed set (first 3 books in series) discounted down from $15.99 to $4.99 (on Chirp, Apple, Nook, and Spotify) but that I have discounted the audiobook collection of short stories featuring Dandy, called Dandy's Daring Deeds, down to $1.99 on the same retailers. I figured this is a perfect compliment to Dandy and the Dognappers.
And here, I will leave you with one more lovely bloom.
