Daily Diary, Day 1059:
Yesterday, a friend asked me if I ever took a day off. I hesitated, as my husband shook his head decisively in the negative, and then I said, laughing, no. I proceeded to explain that during my teaching career at a community college, (with over 200 students per semester whose essays and papers I graded single-handedly) I worked seven days a week, but I did get a break during the 2 months of summer, and during the school year I took a day off if I got sick. Now that I am "retired," I no longer have summer vacations, and since I no longer go out in public very often, and then only masked, I haven’t been sick for over 3 years, so, really, no days off.
On the other hand, everything I do, I do by choice, and most of it is quite enjoyable.
However, I do take it slower some days, such as this one, as a celebration of having achieved my goals yesterday of getting the novella formatted and uploaded.
You can now pre-order Dandy and the Dognappers on Kindle, Kobo, Apple Books, and Smashwords, and Barnes and Noble.
Now, I won’t lie to you, this morning I did my usual cleaning, adding washing couch cushions that had gotten rather smelly from the dog, did my usual morning walk, and I did two of the tasks on my to-do list (taking the draft of the novella down from substack and sending out Spotify free audiobook codes to people who participated in last month’s raffle, which I do in every monthly promotional newsletter.)
But then I stopped working and read a good number of articles on substack that I had been putting off reading because I was “too busy.” And, who knows, maybe I will just read after lunch as well! My idea of a mini-day off.
But first, time for my PT exercise and constructing my yummy salad for lunch.
It was very foggy this morning, see photo, but it is sunny now and is supposed to get to the 80s by later this afternoon, although it also looks like some more fog is moving back in, so maybe not!

Thank you for the pre-order link. I pre-ordered it, and sent a link to my Facebook page and to my doggie-loving friends, especially Linda O. Johnston (author) who has several Cavelier King Charles Spaniels. Thank you.
