Daily Diary, Day 1036: Well, the workshop on self-publishing is over, and I think the participants got something out of it. However, I didn't get to bed until 11:30, and as usual I was awake by 5:30. Normally I can handle a night with only 6 hours sleep, but only if I have been getting enough sleep in the week before, but this was on top of several nights this week with even fewer hours. In consequence, I am accepting that my brain today is feeling a bit like cold congealed oatmeal!
No one showed yesterday to remove the rocks piled on our driveway, nor came to show us samples for replacement. I am just hoping there will be some movement tomorrow, at least so that I know that after July 4th holiday they are on track to finish.
Given the state of my brain, I was actually glad to spend the morning doing my usual once a week thoroughly clean the downstairs to do...albeit I did this very slowly. I was especially glad to put the cover to the dog's downstairs bed into the washer. It had gotten really really smelly. And yesterday, we put away our down comforter since it is no longer going into 50s at night (we sleep with window open once spring arrives), and washed and put what we see as the early summer blankets on the bed.
I have also almost gotten caught up with all my emails, and articles I wanted to read, and I am deciding whether it is worth trying to write at all today. I will see how I feel after lunch. I did take a 20 minute nap yesterday, hadn't done that in years, so I may try that again before a scheduled phone call I have at 3:30.
I am certainly looking forward to getting back on a regular schedule of 2 walks a day, as well as getting at least 500 words written, without any other responsibilities like the workshop looming around the corner. A nice, steady routine sounds lovely, even if it doesn't give me a whole lot to write about to you all!
Here is another transition bloom from pink to yellow!
Lovely
Definitely enjoying the fact that even for others in retirement life is not routine. There is always something that does not go according to the plan for the day.
