Daily Diary, Day 687: I got up at 5 am to be ready for my podcast interview at 6:30, the interviewer living in England. Pleasant conversation (some pre and post the interview itself) for almost 2 hours about life as an indie author and the creation of the Paradisi Chronicles science fiction shared world I helped create and write in.
And, of course, part of the informal conversation was about the heat in England, which is clearly taking a toll on everyone. Continued gratitude on my part that although it got up to 80 degrees here in San Diego yesterday and has already hit 77 this morning, there is a lovely breeze, the nights still get chilly, and we are actually having a pleasant couple of weeks of good summer/beach weather that is supposed to last at least for the next few weeks.
After the interview, I've had a phone call, paid bills, done the daily cleaning, but missed a morning walk, so I might try to do one this evening before or after dinner. My main task today is to finish the Indie Journey post on categories that I started weeks ago, getting ready to put it up tomorrow for my substack post. Then, more work on plotting the next science fiction novel. So, all in all, a nicely balanced day so far.
I know I've done pictures of this hybrid rose before, but the plant, which looked played out for the season to me, suddenly put forth this bloom in a neighbor's yard. Looks good enough to eat!
Just finished on my Nook, Mrs. Stein Solves a Crime. I liked and enjoyed the story very much and loved that you featured Esther who is such a lovely down to earth person. I can see why Annie likes her so much. Looking forward to the next book in this series as I have read and enjoyed all of them. Anything more on Barbara would be nice. She is a single working mother wth her son Jamie and of course Dandy, It would be nice to see more of Hetty and Georgie also. The one thing that I like about these books are getting to know and love the boarders. Take care and happy writing.
