Almost done with story, first use of new heat pump A/C!

Daily Diary, Day 1047: A very quick post because I need to get ready for my usual Thursday noon zoom meeting, with a meeting scheduled after that meeting.

I've cleaned, had my walk, put in laundry, and written 374 words (got over 800 written yesterday), so I am very close to finishing this scene. However, since the next scene is the epilog, I thought I would wait until that was done to post both (I hope by Monday or Tuesday) for those of you who had been postponing reading until the whole thing is done. I will then leave up for a few days before archiving it while I start to go through the editing process to prepare the story for publication.

We actually turned on the A/C yesterday in the late afternoon when it hit 80 degrees inside. Very nice gentle cooling, got down about 3 degrees in an hour, not at all the noisy blast of cold air I tend to associate and hate about A/C. This got us nicely through the couple of hours of dinner and starting to watch tv, then we turned off and opened up windows for the rest of the night. Really pleased!

Here are two blooms from a plant that seemed to have some red leaves among the yellow. Really extraordinary!
