Daily Diary, Day 1046: I ended up writing 563 words yesterday, and I have over 200 written today. Also got in my second walk before dinner, not too hot, but today will be different. Already in seventies when I walked this morning, and it is currently 79 degrees, so I might even decide to walk after dinner today if the temperature hasn't come down a bit earlier. Who knows, maybe if this trend continues we will turn on the A/C at some point.
The amusing irony is that throughout April, May and June, everyone in the city was grumbling about how cloudy and cool it was. Now everyone you pass on a walk has to remark on the heat!
But as I written before, having grown up in the midwest (western PA) with very distinct seasons, and frequently changing weather, I love when we get any kind of change in the weather here.
Our dog Leeza isn't so sure. Evidently, she kept laying down when they hit a shady spot during the long morning walk, and when home she did what she does when she feels over heated, she put one foot in the water dish as she was drinking, then flopped down dramatically on the floor (usually she like being on couch or her soft dog bed!)
The weather also seems to be affecting the birds in their pattern of eating from the the feeder. About 3 days ago we noticed that there was very little activity after about seven in the morning (instead of all day which was the pattern before), then in the evening the interest would pick up, but when we went to bed there was still about a 1/3 or 1/2 seed left (instead of being empty, again the earlier pattern.)
However, when we come down around 5:45 the next morning, the feeder is empty. So either there are some night feeders (although there aren't signs of spilling which I think there would be if the squirrel was hitting the feeder at night), or the birds get very busy even before the sun is up in the morning. Makes me want to sneak down in the middle of the night to see what's up!
Time to get ready for lunch, but here is one more yellow rose, again to celebrate the sunny weather!
Hi,
Well 79 sounds great because here in Texas it’s been over a 100 degrees most days since beginning June! Todays high is 103 but with humidity it feels like 109. 😊
No your not silly, I’am just envious of Cali weather. We used to live in Fallbrook for 16 years. Good times!
