Daily Diary, January 30, 2023 Day 881: As promised, it did rain today, starting about 2 am last night. But mostly it has been periodic showers, not steady rain, and the total since last night is only .57 inches, hasn't even filled the bird bath.
The photographs were from this morning when we had dark clouds to the north, and a rainbow to the direct west. For my husband and Leeza's sake there have been enough pauses in the rain that they got in three walks, albeit all shorter than usual.
The stye is still painful, so I have been putting on compresses every couple of hours, keeping it clean, and being patient.
However, whether it is the eye or the effect of the advil took to ease the pain and inflammation, I generally have felt...under the weather (smile).
I didn't even try to walk, but as hoped I did get a lot of words written, currently the total for today is 1344 words. That was in addition to a long phone call before lunch. Tomorrow, miracle of miracles, I have nothing scheduled except writing time.
And now it is time for me to start to thin about dinner. Last night we watched the third episode of Poker Face (actress from Russian Doll playing a sort of a Columbo role, if Columbo was on the run from a mobster!) Anyway we have enjoyed these so far. There is one more episode to watch, but then it will show up once a week. We also watched the first of season 12 of Vera. last night. Good as usual, so many red herrings!
Today, while soaking eye, I finished listening to the McCaffrey/Pern book, and started listening to the first of the Lord Peter Whimsey mystery series. I had read both, multiple times, but not in decades.
Here's keeping fingers crossed that stye starts to improve tomorrow, and that I feel up to at least a short walk, because I always feel better when I've been outside for at least awhile! But since I got writing done, we had some weather, I had time for recreational reading (listening), and I had a lovely salad (and dark chocolate for lunch) I can certainly say the day was filled with lots of my favorite things!
And, thank you for sharing Techno Sapiens! I've now subscribed and catching up on previous posts. I am also a "far away " grandma -- to an 8 yo grandson (in LA, I'm in Northern California) who I think was suckled on digital devices! 😀 this site is just what I need.
Another friend introduced me to Historical Photos of Women's Stories. Another dimension to Annie's historical environment.
