Daily Diary,: Another lovely sunny day, but supposedly the next storm will start to role in tomorrow by noon. I spent about an hour catching up on my "industry" reading, which means reading a variety of posts and newsletters by writers and journalists that specialize in the publishing industry and writing. Some times this is to get some ideas about my own marketing strategies, sometimes it is to see if my experiences (with ads not working or a dip in sales) are part of a general pattern, and sometimes it is just to satisfy my own curiosity.
I like to comment as well on on substack, because I know how much I am motivated by likes and comments, which tell me people out there are enjoying what I have posted. I also have noticed how most of the newsletters I am following are by people at least twenty or more years younger than I am, so I get a kick out of providing the perspective of an "elder."
Then it was time to get in 30 minutes cleaning, a 40 minute walk, and then the play date for our dog Leeza with Rio the border collie. The rain last week meant they missed last Friday, and Leeza in particular was pretty active, zooming around the upper and lower yard. Rio, on the other hand was more interested in getting my husband to throw him a rubber bone. Leeza finds the whole fetch and drop and wait for the next throw very puzzling!
Then a scheduled phone call, some writing, and lunch. I have been writing this afternoon again, but I just left a wild desert cat in mid leap in order to get this post up because at 4 I have a phone date with my oldest friend that will carry me to dinner time.
Looking on my walk for signs of spring I found one other yard with Narcissus plants, so here goes. And then maybe I can get that wild cat down on the ground!
The Narcissus are mood elevating! Hope you were able to get that wild cat down. 😊
Hello dear Sister -
