Daily Diary, Day 1110:
As usual, I keep being blind-sided by how fast time is passing. Midway through September, already. The days themselves speed by, yesterday being an example. No, I did not get anything written, I didn’t even get in my pilates, although I did do two walks and regular chores. I can’t even blame the second scheduled phone meeting, which got canceled. However, I did get the recommendation post done in good time, got the draft to the newsletter done, and finished a writing assignment that is due Monday, so this won’t distract me going forward. And I had two great walks, each one getting further in my route, which meant I was walking faster.
But today, because I am having a friend over to visit (sitting safely outside since Covid numbers definitely creeping upward), I won’t be getting to writing until this afternoon, and only after another scheduled phone call. And after two days where I felt quite energetic, I am dragging.
I did get in the full 30 minute walk, but didn’t walk as fast. And I only got a bit of my usual upstairs Friday cleaning done. But I’m telling myself this is just a case of the normal up and down, both of my writing speed, and my physical speed, so I am feeling gratitude for the energetic days coming more frequently.
Right now I am at the dining room table, and looking up to watch the birds at the feeder while I wait for my friend.
This year’s crop of juvenile house finches have mostly made it through their first fledging, for awhile they were looking very scruffy. The males were this patchy pale pink, instead of the orangey-red, and feathers were sticking out every which way for all of them. I so do enjoy watching the finches and the song sparrows which are about the same size, as they flit back and forth between the feeder, the fence, and the scraggly bougainvillea that grows back there.
Here are some photos. Hope you all are looking forward to a good weekend.
