Daily Diary, Day 905: Today could be called, taking care of business day. Had some medical stuff to straighten out, then because my newsletter went out and I do a raffle off of free codes for audiobooks with each newsletter, I had to start a list of people who want to participate in the raffle. Then, I reached out to people who have beta read for me to see if they are up for doing so again, and was delighted that I got swift responses from everyone. And this morning and again this afternoon I have been working on taxes. Tomorrow I hope to finish up, but it will probably take all day. I am really curious to see how much I spent on production of books (covers, proof reading, narration) and how much I spent on advertising, then see what percentage of my royalties those two categories end up being (particularly compared to last two years.)
I also had my noon zoom meeting and scheduled phone call after that, so busy day.
I also got in cleaning, and a 45 min walk, missing the rain, unlike my husband and Leeza, who kept being rained on when they were out walking. It has been that kind of day, sunny (as it is right this minute) then rain shower. Looks like this will be the pattern tomorrow, but then supposedly on Saturday, heavy rain much of the day.
The birds are really starting to come in some numbers to the bird feeder, and the first squirrel found us this morning (see photo), I had put the feeder in a place I hoped they wouldn't find. Not because I mind squirrels, but because our neighbor has been known to poison, so I don't like to encourage. It didn't try to get anything from the feeder, I think that the wind storm of the other day blew enough seeds onto the ground that he was content to check that out. Or maybe he didn't get excited about the mainly millet, was looking for sunflower seeds perhaps!
Anyhow, I was actually delighted to see him as I looked up from my computer at the dining room table. It felt really weird not to be writing! Hope I can start on the editing on Saturday.
