Daily Diary, Day 903: Boy, was I tired yesterday. I forget how hard it can be on my body when I concentrate that hard, hour after hour, with few breaks-physically or mentally. It was worth it to get the draft done, (yay) but a reminder that I am never going to be able to maintain that level of output. Occasionally, yes, but consistently, the way some authors who write fast and published many books a year do. No. At least not at this stage in my life.
We had a quiet evening, watched the next episode of the show Strike (season 5) on BritBox. A man and a woman who investigate crimes, both damaged, good emotional and sexual tension. Then finished up night with another old Vera.
This morning I did get in a 30 minute walk, do regular daily clean, and have started on tax stuff. Our tax preparers give us a long document with places to fill out information (and put in numbers for the previous year) which helps. So this morning I went through the tax forms we did get, used them to fill in part of form (this is really the easiest part.)
This afternoon I will start to go through my files for bills (which includes looking for total numbers spent on utilities, insurance, etc) but I also use this time to separate out all the old 2022 stuff that isn't needed any more. Tomorrow I will get down to doing things like figuring out business expenses, some basics like charitable contributions, etc. I suspect that will take all day. Then I will know what I need my husband to look up since he manages our online banking, etc. If all goes well, I should be done by Thurs or Friday at the latest. I am itching to get back to the manuscript, but this is a good enforced break.
Started out sunny, but storm was predicted to move in, and sure enough it is gray, and very windy right now. I hope there will be enough breaks tomorrow to walk again.
Here is photo this morning showing sun, and the clouds moving in from the south, which is actually not a usual trajectory.
Great photos the clear sky and the line of clouds! Good luck on your taxes. 😊
