Daily Diary, Day 895:
Whew, been working hard today, and I just passed 1000 words, with still a little more writing time before dinner. I even got over 600 words written yesterday during the afternoon, despite the scheduled phone call.
I did my basic cleaning today, but I didn't walk, because, for various reasons, I lost a lot of sleep last night, only getting about five hours, when I usually get between 7-8. As a result, I feel slightly like a truck ran over me.
For some reason, when I am this tired, I am actually able to write. I think it helps create endorphins or something. Tea helps as well.
I can't even blame our dog Leeza for my wakefulness, despite the fact that she became very upset when we had about three claps of thunder and lightening in the evening, By bedtime she had settled down and didn't disturb us after we went to bed.
While there had been a low chance of rain predicted yesterday, not only did we have the thunder and lightening, which is unusual for this region, it rained pretty hard off and on during the night, racking up a total of an inch of rain over night. The photo below is of the sunset last night, and you can see the clouds were rolling in.
Today it was mostly sunny, but clouds are gathering again. Nevertheless, the predictions are just for showers between midnight and five AM. Let's see if they are more accurate tonight!
Ok, time to get a little more written, then pack it in for the night. Keeping my fingers crossed for a better night's sleep tonight. I can handle one night when I'm short on hours, but two in a row will make me grumpy!
So very interesting that you can actually write well when you are tired!
I love the picture of the sunset! I know how you feel when I don’t get much sleep. And, even though you didn’t get a walk in, I’m sure your cleaning got some exercise in for you. It’s been sunny here in Michigan for the past few days. Yesterday, our temp was over 50 degrees. Strange winter. I’m waiting for the other weather shoe to drop. We’ll probably have a blizzard in April!
