Daily Diary, Day 1067: I just sent off the newest draft of Dandy and the Dognappers to my copyeditor, so I am right on schedule--well actually, ahead of schedule.
I have a phone call scheduled soon, so I wanted to get this post out first. I was quite pleased by the response to my post about cozy mysteries that I put up yesterday. Motivates me to do more of these kinds of posts.
Yesterday, for some unexplained reason, my blood sugar went screwy--went very high after lunch, very low before dinner--which made me very shaky, and this was despite not having deviated at all in what I ate, or when yesterday. However, I decided to do 40 minute walk this morning instead of 30 while it was still relatively cool, and I made sure I drank extra water afterwards (along with my usual cups of tea). This means I will only do a 20 minute walk in late afternoon, and only do that if my blood sugar is normal after lunch.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel as if my body, particularly once I hit my 70s, is constantly changing what it needs, and I find myself constantly tinkering with things like food, timing of pills, etc as if running a long term experiment on myself.
The one thing I have done differently today is turn the A/C on before lunch, instead of waiting until I started to feel hot.
Here are another set of blooms that combine yellow with tiny bit of reddish orange. I swear, until I started walking and looking for flowers to photograph I never noticed this color combination before!
Marigolds
I’am with you on being in my 70’s and nothing seems the same about my body. It’s constantly changing and not necessarily for the good. Kinda like Senior Puberty! Those are beautiful flowers, they all have been, yellow with a little red. I’ve never seen Marigolds like that.
