Daily Diary, Day 715: I read an article this morning about a series of long term studies (ie following people over decades) that seem to conclusively relate exercise with lower rates of dementia. Of course, because of my father's history with Alzheimer's, I am always interested in these sorts of studies. What particularly cheered me was the fact that they included doing household cleaning chores as a kind of exercise that, along with usual things like sports, walking etc., contributed to a lowered risk. Made me pursue my usual daily dust and sweeping with some enthusiasm, followed by a full hour walk. Felt quite virtuous.
I did get 558 words written before I had to go off to the doctor's appointment yesterday, and again, hope to do even better today.
At the doctors office I was basically told to keep doing what I was doing in terms of my various health issues. My blood pressure on first reading was a little high (usually because of medication I am on it is low), but on a second reading was quite normal. This has been the pattern for the past 2 years, and my suspicion is that being out and about, including driving, must make me nervous. Truth is, I think the last time I drove was 6 months ago for my last doctor's appointment!
Sticking with the color scheme of the last couple of photos, here is a lovely cascade of white blooms I found on a succulent. The red bloom is from a different plant, but I thought it sort of looked like a cherry on top of sundae!
About your blood pressure, ever heard of the" white coat syndrome"? It means that some people get .nervous at the doctor's office and it raises their blood pressure. That's why many doctors ,(.mine is one) will.take it again once you have been talking with them a while..Usually the second time it's taken it's lower
Happens to me all the time and I don't think.Im nervous either
