Daily Diary Day 584: Sun out, already in the mid 60s, so I was a trifle hot with a thick sweatshirt on for my first walk of the day. No writing or second walk yesterday, because I spent the afternoon setting up this substack newsletter.
For anyone who follows Heather Cox Richardson's daily post Letters from an American, she uses substack. This is in part an experiment to see if I can eventually use this form to replace my periodic blogging on my website and maybe even my monthy newsletters. But for now I am also going to duplicate my daily facebook posts there. I'm not going to stop posting on facebook, but I know that not everyone likes facebook, and facebook only shows my posts to a very small fraction of the people who have followed my authorpage. So this should give people an alternative to use. The posts will get delivered to your email inbox if you subscribe.
The title of the newsletter is An Aging Author's Daily Diversions (as my book titles show, I am a sucker for alliteration!) Anyway, it is part of my constant attempt to stay current with the tools available for a writer.
Today, I hope to get a little writing done this morning. I've already spent 2 hours setting up the first of two newsletters (one for my own Victorian Mysteries, the other for the Historical Fiction Authors Cooperative) that go out tomorrow and I am spending the afternoon (outside, enjoying the sun) with a writer friend to help her figure out how to keep track of her sales in a way that will let her evaluate whether or not her newest promotions are working. Then I need to do the second newsletter. Then boom! Last walk of the day (if it isn’t too hot) and the productive part of my day will be over.
Here is a photo of someone who was going for the multiple spring flowers look in their yard that I saw this morning.
