Daily Diary, Day 944: I can tell that I am getting anxious to finish this edit as quickly as possible, because it isn't even lunch yet, and I've achieved my 6 chapters a day goal.
I do have a phone call scheduled for this afternoon, but I should be able to get a few more chapters edited before then. Frankly, there is a positive benefit to getting through as many chapters a day as possible. This gives me a better feel for the basic rhythm of the story, so I can make sure there doesn't need to be any more cutting to tighten up the pacing.
However, I think the other reason I am making such progress is the fact that my sore back is really only comfortable when I am sitting in my rocking chair (such an old lady image!) It appears the cleaning I did this weekend wasn't exactly what the doctor ordered, so I didn't even do my usual dust and dry mop this morning.
We finally finished watching Night Agent, and I thoroughly enjoyed. We have been pairing it with old Midsomer Mystery episodes that we don't remember. Last night had the comment from the new sergeant about the high body count of the case, and the Chief Inspector's response that this had been remarked upon. We also watched the last episode of the Death in Paradise spin-off, which I was glad had a happy ending. That hasn't always been true with the original. In addition, am excited that a new season of Brokenwood is starting tonight!
Any TV you are binge watching?
Here is a close up I got of one of the finches this morning. They’ve gotten so used to us that they let me come up close to the window. Isn’t he a cutie! They are definitely going through a whole feeder's worth of seed a day now.
Glad your editing/read through is going well. Do take care of your back and enjoy the feathered cutie.
I really enjoy your daily diary. I just finished a old series called “Pie in the Sky”. You like many of the same books and TV series I do. The wildflowers are going crazy here in Texas. The Bluebonnets are amazing and everywhere. In Georgetown the Red Poppys are lovely.
