Daily Diary, Day 600:
I did get 518 words written yesterday, despite meetings, phone calls, etc. Had a lovely salad for dinner--with some live basil a friend gave us. Normally, in addition to romaine and red leaf lettuce, I put in some arugula, but it went bad early this week (which often happens) and so I tried some basil leaves. Wow, I really like what it brings to a salad. Love to hear what sorts of things you put in your salads to spice things up.
Did get my second walk in yesterday, wind was picking up, and rain was predicted (which eventually meant one brief…very brief…downpour just as we were getting up.
The movie we watched in the evening was C'mon C'mon with Joaquin Phoenix. It came out in 2021. Black and white, story of a journalist who has to take care of his young nephew for a while. His job is interviewing young people around the country, so much of the movie is snippets of these interviews, interspersed with scenes with his wonderful, quirky nephew. At the end of the movie I broke into tears––not because it was that sad (there is a happy ending of sorts––but because it was so moving. Highly recommend.
I walked this morning and then went and got my second booster. Last time I had a headache and slight fever from the booster, hoping don’t even have that so I can get more written today.
Meanwhile, here is series of photos. First is our dog enjoying the sun, but not wanting to be out in the very strong chill wind that had kicked up. Second is of the clouds that had rolled in by sunset, third is bank of clouds this morning. I know that for many of y
ou, my fascination with taking pictures of clouds is going to seem odd, but living in San Diego where it is usually sunny, with some late evening or early morning fog, real clouds are a treat!
